The aim is to analyse the position of developing countries in the global economy, with regard to technology, industrial development and overall economic development. Thus, it brings into discussion some critical issues such as international diffusion of technology, technology gaps, absorptive capacities, catching up and leapfrogging and the role of multinational corporations as actors in developing country innovation systems.
