Serendipity is an faceted search engine based on Semantic Web Technologies. As an important feature of Serendipity, Serendipity POIs (Points of Interest), allows users visualize OCW Repositories from an dataset based on LInked Data technologies.


Serendipity is sponsored by the research group GICAC from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (GICAC-UPM) and the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) in collaboration with the OCW Institutions. This project aims to improve the searchability and discoverability of open educational content, which will enhance the ability for learners and educators to find and use OCW courses.



It shows information of Universities classified hierarchically, taken starting point to continents


Similar to the previous, but it uses rectangles to show the level of participation of: continents, countries, cities and universities in the world of OCW


Tree structures to show another way to visualize the information the universities members of OCW initiatives.



Another tree form with other behavior and different functionalities to navigate for the graph


Search courses by tag and use geographic information to show courses of universities and social network analysis (SNA) to form networks of collaboration and recommend related tags
